Sky Marketing is a marketing agency that has Digital out-of-home (DOOH) screens in multiple malls in Iraq. They use their screens to display dynamic content to serve a wide range of marketing purposes. In this project, Ovanya provided an AI-Powered data collection solution for their DOOH screens. AI can facilitate the collection of data from DOOH advertising to gain deeper insights into customer behavior and preferences.
The Problem
Digital out-of-house screens alone don’t provide information on how many people pass by or pay attention to the screen, It doesn’t inform us about the audience’s gender and age estimation. While traditional people counting solutions might count how many people have passed by the screen, they can’t tell you if they have actually paid any attention to the advertisement. Although digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising has proved to be an effective medium for advertising, without the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), its potential remains limited. Because, We don't know which content interests customers, which results in a lack of insight into how well the advertisement campaign is performing.
The Solution
Our team at Ovanya designed and implemented a highly efficient face recognition system for Sky Marketing that can track human faces and recognize them even if they come back later, which can provide more accurate measurements of the number of people who are looking at the screen. This system uses cameras and a combination of deep learning models to analyze video footage and provide data on the number of people who are looking at the screen, predicting their age, range, and their gender. The system was seamlessly integrated into the advertising screens installed by Sky Marketing. enabling Sky Marketing to gather precise insights into customer behavior and interests. This valuable data assists Sky Marketing in making informed business decisions, optimizing its marketing strategies, and enhancing the overall customer experience at malls. With its ability to collect and analyze vast amounts of data, AI presents an exciting opportunity to transform DOOH advertising into a more sophisticated and effective medium.
